Thanksgiving Fried Rice | "It's a Party" Ep. 03

This time of year, there are so many parties, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't find a moment to break out our blowtorches and deal with those "planned overs." This month on "It's a Party" I make "Thanksgiving Fried Rice," which is a simple preparation with fried rice essentials and some Thanksgiving leftovers despite what it seems to the uninitiated.

As we all do when cooking a great Thanksgiving meal, we took some time to explore the concept of gratitude. Sometimes I am deeply and emotionally connected to my sense of gratitude. More often, though, I'm filled with gratitude the way a bodybuilder is filled with strength — the result of extensive and intentional practice. Either way, the root of a gratitude practice is an awareness of all the things we have to be grateful for — that's what I keep returning to — awareness, noticing all the good. There is so much goodness to be grateful for; we simply need to practice gratitude.
