I have worked in schools, camps, hospitals, churches and businesses helping people solve problems and tell their story. I am fascinated with technology and the ways we can use technology to change our world. Freedom Bank

I am currently the IT and Marketing Specialist at Freedom Bank, responsible for managing the technology and marketing needs for a local community bank with over $20m in assets and 40 employees. I work closely with the Information Security Officer to manage, design and implement the information security program, including regular audits, vulnerability analysis and penetration testing. I was also helped design and implement a social media strategy to further the marketing goals of the Bank.

Responsibilities included creating and implementing educational programs; recruiting, training and managing volunteers; designing and producing communications for programs; providing first line of defense support for inter-office technology, including PCs, a Windows Server, PBX (Astrix) Phone System, network system; designing and implementing a social media strategy for outreach.

During this time I also worked with the Great Beginnings Pre-School implementing an experiential science program and leading educational crafts and activities.

Films on Purpose is a community-run series showing films on environmental and social issues of our time. Responsibilities included strategic planning, program development and marketing oversight. The marketing program involved creating, designing and managing digital marketing – Facebook, email and paper campaigns.

The Chaplain Extern program is part of the hospital’s Clinical Pastoral Education Program. CPE Externs were responsible to serve as the floor chaplain 6hrs a week, being the on call chaplain once every other week, attending verbatim discussions and small group conferences. I worked with in and out patient juvenile behavioral health wards leading Spiritual Journey groups, as well as working as a floor chaplain in the Children’s Hospital.

The Crisis Center at the Alachua County Department of Health was part of the National Suicide Talkline as well as a local resource to the community. As Phone Counsleor, duties include counseling individuals in a crisis situation throughout Alachua County, answering and counseling individuals who call 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK, assessing suicidality over the phone, extending local services when appropriate. As a Care Team Associate, duties include face to face counseling, serving as liason between law enforcement offices, the crisis center, and members of the community, as well as further mobilizing resources. We also offered Crisis Intervention Training to local area law enforcement officers as part of their continuing education program.

Beginning in 2005, I worked at Cedarkirk Camp and Conference Center as a summer camp counselor, and I caught the camp bug BAD! Since then I have worked at several other camps, in a variety of positions, including, Counselor, Intern, Challenge Course Manager, Canoe Instructor, Boat Captain, Team Building Facilitator, Retreat Leader, tractor driver, and more.
